The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) is inviting organizations from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger to propose candidates for the International Advanced Training Program on Climate Change – Mitigation and Adaptation. This training sequence places special emphasis on water resources and agriculture.
The overall objective of this training program is to combat the negative effects of climate change on vulnerable populations living in poverty by improving their level of knowledge, institution building and capacity building to climate change in partner countries.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only candidates nominated by strategic and legally recognized organizations will be admitted.
- The program is intended primarily for candidates holding key positions with organizations whose missions are related to national, regional or local community planning and are actively involved in strategic decision-making.
- Candidates representing governmental organizations, private companies or NGOs at national, regional or local level are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a university degree or at least five years of professional experience.
- To achieve a good balance between men and women, qualified female candidates are particularly encouraged.
- Applicants who have already participated in a training program funded by Sida may not apply for this program.
