The Guelph Community Foundation is inviting applications for the Sleeman Better Water Fund 2026, a community grant program designed to support projects that enhance water quality, conservation, and stewardship.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to environmental responsibility and aims to inspire collective action toward sustainable water management. Community groups and nonprofit organizations in Guelph and the surrounding region are encouraged to apply for grants of up to $40,000 to implement innovative, community-driven projects that protect and preserve local water resources.
The Sleeman Better Water Fund operates under a powerful vision of “better water for everyone.” Its mission is to become a leader in water conservation across Canada while promoting accessibility to clean water for all. Through this initiative, Sleeman and the Guelph Community Foundation hope to encourage collaboration, innovation, and education that strengthen water sustainability efforts at the community level.
Aligned with Sleeman’s environmental values, the program emphasizes reducing the impact of climate change, promoting the responsible use of water, and inspiring individuals and organizations to safeguard the natural environment. Projects that embody these principles—whether through education, conservation, restoration, or advocacy—are strongly encouraged to apply.
Eligible applicants should demonstrate clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and a lasting benefit for local ecosystems and residents. Successful proposals will showcase creative approaches to improving water systems, raising public awareness, and building community capacity around sustainable water practices. By supporting these initiatives, the Sleeman Better Water Fund 2026 continues to champion the protection of one of our most vital shared resources—clean and accessible water for all.
