The 2030 Agenda, Decent Work and Social Dialogue

Introduction to the course

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development calls for increased efforts at all levels to enhance the coherence of social economic and environmental policies. The role and potential of social dialogue are crucial for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and, in particular, SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth.

Social dialogue facilitates consultation and coordination among stakeholders and thereby creating the enabling environments and policy processes required for SDG implementation. It also ensures responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels.

This 2.5-hour self-guided eLearning course provides a comprehensive summary on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the centrality of decent work in the 2030 Agenda and how to advance the Sustainable Development Goals through social dialogue.
