The SOS Children Villages, Nigeria in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages, Netherlands, 1% club, Enviu and Afrilabs is currently implementing the “Next Economy Programme”, a 3-year programme with support from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Next Economy Programme was created to address the issue of youth unemployment through increased access to entrepreneurship training, advisory services and linkages that will eventually result to improved livelihoods as well as access to improved employability skills which will help these youths meet the demands of the labour market and guide them through internships to decent and full employments.

The programme represents an innovative approach to job creation through entrepreneurship and employability training for young people aged 15-35 years in Nigeria.

Purposes

Program Structure

Introduction skill building training (3 months)

When applicants join applicants will go through a 3-month introduction, with 6 intensive trainings sessions. During these sessions applicants will build on general work and life skills which applicants can use any future career.

During the introduction training applicants will learn:

Duration: 6 sessions of 3 hours, spread over a period of 3 months

After three months applicants can choose one of two follow-up training courses

Each program will provide applicants with knowledge, skills, experience and attitude to enter the job market.
