UN Women Call for Proposals: Creating Safe and Inclusive City to Prevent Violence against Women and Girls in Jakarta, Indonesia

Call for Proposals: Combating Violence against Women and Girls in Morocco

Deadline: 15 April 2017

The UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is currently inviting civil society organizations, educational or academic institutions to submit proposals to implement project on Creating Safe and Inclusive City to Prevent Violence against Women and Girls in Jakarta City, Indonesia. This project is part of UN Women’s Indonesia program on Violence against Women – Safe City Initiative.

Responding to above situation, since 2015 UN Women Indonesia initiated “Piloting Safe and Inclusive Cities for Women and Girls in Jakarta” (Safe Jakarta) project. The project is developed with the understanding that in Indonesia, like in many other countries, women’s access to and ability to avail of the rights and benefits of the city are often encumbered by their gender. The Safe Jakarta Project is attempting to respond to this concern, drawing lessons and good practices shared by UN Women Safe Cities Global Programme.
