Thus, ASF and ATL MST SIDA, through the support of the European Union, have launched a call for project proposals to support involvement and participation of civil society in the reform of justice to ensure the trial equity, access to justice and improvement of conditions and reintegration prisoners. Funded projects must be part of one of the following themes:
- Access to legal information and legal aid for people in vulnerability situation and detainees;
- Improving the conditions of detention of detainees in situations of vulnerability;
- Promotion of alternative measures to incarceration and reintegration
The beneficiaries of the actions financed will be the detainees as well as the litigants in vulnerability situation. In order to guarantee the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the actions developed by Beneficiary CSOs, the proposed action will include a strengthening program capacities and support throughout the duration of the funded projects. A capacity building plan tailored to beneficiary organizations projects will be designed and developed directly with them.
Funding Information
The overall budget available for the financing of all projects is one total amount of EUR 600,000. Each project proposed should correspond to a budget of between 20,000 euros and 120,000 euros.
Period of implementation
The implementation period for selected projects must be 18 months and 24 months. The estimated date for starting the projects is March 2019.
Types of Actions
As an indication and not exhaustive, the proposed projects will have to relate to the actions following:
- Dissemination of information on rights, including detainees;
- Providing legal advice and legal representation;
- Improvement of detention conditions (health services, training and reintegration, etc.);
- Promotion and development of alternative measures to incarceration;
- Support for the socio-professional reintegration of prisoners and former inmates;
- Capacity building of justice actors;
- Advocacy and dissemination of information
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for a grant, the following eligibility criterion is mandatory and is an exclusion criterion for grant applications:
- To be a Tunisian organization within the meaning of Decree-Law n ° 2011-88 of 24 September 2011, on the organization of associations.
