The Prague Civil Society Centre and Impact Hub Yerevan are inviting civil society organisations in Armenia to apply for participation in a two-day workshop on social entrepreneurship followed by a funding competition.
The aim of the workshop is to help civil society organisations with a mission promoting democracy building, human rights and fundamental freedoms to develop an idea for a social business that will boost their sustainability. Participants will work with mentors to refine their business model and practice pitching it to potential investors. Following the workshop, selected participants can compete for a start-up investment in their social business from the Prague Civil Society Centre.
Workshop Details
- When & Where: Yerevan, Armenia—November 4-5, 2019
- Organisers: The Prague Civil Society Centre and Impact Hub Yerevan
- Languages: English and Armenian (participants will give their presentations in English and mentoring sessions will be held in Armenian)
- Who: Up to 15 organisations will be chosen to participate. Each organisation can send two representatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants organisation is encouraged to apply if:
- Applicants have an idea for a social business that will contribute to the sustainability of applicants civil society organisation supporting social good or directly contribute to social mission.
- Applicants want to take their idea to the implementation stage. Applicants want to learn more about social entrepreneurship from experts in the field.
- Applicants are looking for a funding opportunity for applicants social business.
Outline Of Events
- One day preparation meeting (late October): mentors will present different methods for building a business model and discuss the principles of effective project and product management.
- Workshop (November 4-5, 2019): In-depth, intensive mentoring on business models, storytelling and pitching techniques, presentation of pitches and feedback. A jury will select the strongest projects and invite the organisations to apply for a financial support.
- After the workshop: Based on the feedback received at the workshop, those invited to compete for funding from the Prague Civil Society Centre will submit strong proposals for their social business.
