YSEALI Regional Workshop: Good Governance and Civil Society

Organizing Youth CO: Lab Australia Programme 2021

Deadline: 15 May 2020

The YSEALI Regional Workshop: Good Governance and Civil Society is centered on empowering and equipping young Southeast Asian leaders, who are working on issues related to good governance and civic engagement, with knowledge and techniques to enable them to promote transparent governance and democracy upon returning to their home countries.

The workshop will convene various players, both at national and regional levels, who have been advocating and implementing transparency and good governance agendas.

This three-day workshop will be a combination of plenary breakouts, masterclass sessions, thematic open market consultation, and various off-site learning visits related to good governance and civic engagement. Continuing the impact post-workshop, participants will use the skills and techniques learned from the workshop to develop and implement an action plan in their home countries.

All travel, lodging, and Workshop costs will be funded by the U.S. State Department through U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur, in cooperation with TechSoup as the implementing partner.

Objectives

This regional workshop aims to build capacity among 100 youth leaders across ASEAN and Timor Leste who are currently involved in or will be working to influence public policies to better serve citizens’ needs through greater openness and transparency.
