The Community Safety Investment Grant Program – Stream 2 offers significant funding to community organisations across New South Wales to design and deliver larger, long-term initiatives focused on young people aged 10-17 years who are involved with or at risk of involvement with the justice system, their families and broader community.
The focus areas include designing projects and initiatives that meet local needs and priorities, engaging young people in positive pro-social activities, providing mentoring and coaching support, delivering skill-building programs including life building, employment readiness and literacy and numeracy, embedding cultural activities and strengthening connection to culture, establishing safe youth hubs and enhancing or creating new services in priority areas.
This grant stream allows organisations to apply for funding of up to $300,000 for initiatives that will be delivered over two years. Applicants must be eligible incorporated organisations, registered not-for-profit bodies, Indigenous corporations or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations with appropriate insurance, Australian bank account and ABN.Projects must commence by 1 May 2026 and be completed by 31 May 2028.
The scheme encourages applications from organisations that propose community-led, culturally responsive, locally relevant interventions that support young people to re-engage with education, training or employment and increase community safety.
