The program is delivered across metropolitan, regional, and remote areas through two complementary streams that aim to create inclusive, community-driven learning opportunities.
The first stream focuses on LLND skills training delivered directly to individuals by SEE providers contracted by the department, including through place-based project delivery. The second stream, SEE First Nations, funds locally tailored, whole-of-community LLND skills training specifically designed for First Nations people. These grants will support First Nations organisations, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, registered training organisations, Adult and Community Education providers, and peak bodies applying on behalf of eligible members.
Scoping Grants have a maximum value of $30,000. SEE First Nations grants are dedicated to funding projects that meet the English LLND skills training needs of entire First Nations communities. Improving English LLND skills serves as a key pathway to enhancing individual, family, and community wellbeing, while also contributing to stronger cultural and social outcomes.
Eligible applicants for Scoping Grants include Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, First Nations registered training organisations, First Nations Adult and Community Education providers, and First Nations Community Organisation peak bodies applying on behalf of their eligible members. Applicants must have the legal capacity to enter into a grant with the Commonwealth and must be affiliated with the communities they represent or partner with an organisation that is. This community affiliation can be demonstrated through evidence such as annual reports showing local community involvement or statements of support from community leaders.
The SEE First Nations program is available across metropolitan, regional, and remote areas of Australia. It aims to support communities by building skills that strengthen participation, employability, and community development outcomes. The program ensures that First Nations people receive tailored and culturally responsive training that supports their pathways to employment and lifelong learning.
