Deadline: 30-Oct-2025
The Government of Saint Lucia has launched the Creative Economy Grant Fund (CEGF) to provide vital support for the nation’s cultural and creative industries.
The objectives of the fund are to support the development, quality, innovation and presentation of original work towards excellence; strengthen business capacity and livelihoods among creatives to build economic resilience; encourage collaboration, mentorship and capacity building; promote inclusive access especially for underrepresented sectors within the creative space; and grow audiences and market reach.
The Creative Economy Grant Fund (CEGF) serves as a transformative opportunity for local creatives, offering resources to start new projects, strengthen cultural identity, and expand possibilities for artistic expression. With an allocation of EC $350,000 announced by Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, the initiative is being implemented through the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information. Applications remain open until October 30th, 2024, creating a window of opportunity for eligible participants to gain support for their projects.
Designed to empower the sector, the fund provides grants of up to $10,000 that can benefit a wide spectrum of artistic fields, including dance, filmmaking, writing, and visual arts. The aim is not only to provide financial assistance but also to lay down a foundation that encourages sustainable growth in creative industries, thereby boosting cultural presence and economic resilience.
Eligibility is extended to individual creatives aged 16 years and above, as well as micro-enterprises and collaborative or cultural groups. Particular attention will be given to innovative projects that demonstrate strong cultural, social, or economic value, ensuring that the fund prioritizes initiatives with lasting impact.
By supporting a new generation of artists and cultural practitioners, the grant fund strengthens the creative economy and opens doors to mentorship, collaboration, and greater visibility across local and international markets. Saint Lucian creatives are being encouraged to take advantage of this funding to build their capacity, gain recognition, and contribute to the nation’s cultural development.
