Deadline: 31-Oct-2025

The GMCA Inspire Fund offers grants ranging from £500 to £2,000 to support freelance and independent artists as well as small creative organisations across Greater Manchester.

This opportunity is designed to help individuals and groups strengthen their creative work, access new resources, and develop skills that contribute to the cultural life of the region.

Artists and organisations may apply for a variety of purposes, such as purchasing a new instrument, investing in costumes or equipment, or undertaking professional training to enhance their practice. The fund is open to freelance artists, musicians, performers, independent creatives, and small arts organisations with an annual turnover of under £100,000.

The program focuses on applications that demonstrate clear benefits for personal or organisational growth, provide added value to Greater Manchester’s creative sector, and contribute to the development of the applicant’s practice or community engagement. The emphasis is on supporting creativity in ways that are meaningful and sustainable within the region.

There are, however, some restrictions on what the funding can be used for. It cannot cover living costs, wages, or staff time, nor can it fund entire projects or events outright.

Travel expenses are not eligible, and organisations already supported by the Spirit and Sustain strands of the GMCA Culture Fund cannot apply. Funding is also not available for activities or projects that extend beyond April 2026.
