Deadline: 17-Nov-2025

The European Union Delegation to Zimbabwe is proud to announce the launch of the call for applications for the 2026-2028 cohort of the Team Europe Youth Sounding Board (YSB).

The Team Europe YSB seeks to bring together young men and women from all provinces of Zimbabwe, encompassing both urban and rural areas, and ensuring inclusivity for people with disabilities.

It looks for youth who are passionate about the socio-economic development of Zimbabwe, particularly in advancing youth empowerment. The YSB cohort will advise the EU Delegation and EU Member States Embassies on their programmes and activities in Zimbabwe, ensuring that the perspectives and priorities of contemporary young Zimbabweans are incorporated into EU initiatives.

Comprising 25 diverse young people, the YSB members will volunteer over a two-year term to discuss and provide advice on issues such as climate-smart agriculture, green economic growth, human development, good governance, human rights, gender equality, and women empowerment. They will also guide the EU on how to strengthen engagement with young people across Zimbabwe.

The EU’s commitment to youth participation and empowerment is reflected in this initiative, which has already contributed to tangible improvements in youth-centered projects and strategies. Through their active involvement, YSB members influence policies that address the real needs and aspirations of Zimbabwean youth, while also monitoring the impact of EU programmes in their communities.

Membership in the YSB is voluntary and entails a two-year mandate, requiring approximately 60 days of engagement per year through both online and field activities. While the role is unremunerated, the EU covers all reasonable expenses to ensure that members can participate fully.

Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old at the close of the application period, be Zimbabwean nationals or permanent residents, not hold any leadership position in political parties, and demonstrate a strong passion for youth socio-economic development and empowerment. The call encourages applications from youth of all backgrounds to promote diversity and inclusivity.

By joining the Team Europe YSB, young Zimbabweans have the unique opportunity to contribute to shaping youth empowerment within EU Delegation projects and strategies, represent the diverse voices of their peers, engage with decision-makers, and gain invaluable experience in international cooperation.

The deadline for applications is 17 November 2025.
