Apply Now: Community Arts Grant 2026 (Ireland)

Apply now for Community Project Grant (Australia)

Deadline: 24-Oct-2025

The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is inviting applications for its Community Arts Grants, which are designed to support and encourage local participation in the arts.

These grants aim to fund community-based activities, enabling residents to celebrate creativity within their neighbourhoods. Community arts activities can include a wide variety of projects such as art workshops, community art exhibitions, publications of creative writing by local groups, or performances by amateur drama or music groups. The grants are intended to help cover the costs of such activities and are not designed to fund professional artists, but rather to support local groups, individuals, and organisations in creating and sharing artistic projects within the community.

Applicants may apply for a grant of up to €1,500, with smaller amounts, starting from €100, also available. Only one arts grant application will be accepted per applicant, and activities must take place within Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County. Certain costs, however, are not eligible for support. The grant will not fund building programmes, third-party grants, loans, or charity fundraising events. It will also not cover capital equipment such as computers, TVs, or musical instruments, the hire of Council premises, international travel, or third-level education. In addition, this funding is not for UBU-funded youth projects or for primary school projects, as the dlr Arts Office supports an annual programme for these groups separately.

If you received an arts grant in 2025, you must have already submitted a final report before a new application will be considered. Late applications will not be accepted. Applications are welcome from local community groups, individual artists working with a community group, and local services or organisations. If an individual artist wishes to apply, they must provide a letter from the group they plan to collaborate with, confirming their interest and outlining the details of the project or event.

Through the Community Arts Grants, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council continues to encourage local creativity by supporting residents in engaging with and celebrating the arts. Whether through exhibitions, performances, publications, or workshops, these grants ensure that the arts remain an active and accessible part of community life in the county.
