Deadline: 14-Nov-2025
The BC Rehab Foundation in British Columbia is offering Project Grants designed to support non-profit organizations and community groups that work toward ensuring full participation and improved accessibility for people with physical disabilities across the province.
The program aims to fund initiatives that align with BC Rehab’s mission of creating more inclusive communities and removing barriers that limit the opportunities available to people living with disabilities.
Projects must demonstrate lasting impact, include measurable objectives to evaluate success, have a capable project leader or team, and present a detailed budget and timeline. Community support is essential, particularly from people with disabilities, and applicants must show how many will benefit from the proposed work. Capital work is eligible only if it is a standalone part of a larger campaign and not just general playgrounds, equipment, programming, or retrospective costs.
Grant amounts typically range between CAD 2,000 and CAD 5,000 though there is no fixed maximum; requests for event sponsorship are possible if they show direct, proven benefit to people with disabilities. Applications can be submitted by mail or by email, and there are multiple deadlines throughout the year, with decisions usually made about four weeks after each deadline.
Eligibility is restricted to non-profit organizations or community groups based in British Columbia. Projects that already have support from BC Rehab, or proposals for expenditures incurred before the approval date, are not eligible. The review process takes into account how effectively the project meets accessibility needs, its cost-effectiveness, the applicant’s track record, community engagement, and ability to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
This grant offers a valuable opportunity for local non-profits to launch or expand projects that truly enhance accessibility and inclusion. By providing funding, BC Rehab enables communities to break down barriers and improve quality of life for people with physical disabilities.
