Brisbane City Council launches Environment Grants (Australia)

Call for Applications: Eco-Solve Amplifying Grants for AI Innovation

Deadline: 03-Nov-2025

Brisbane City Council offers Environment Grants to support local environmental initiatives, community gardens, and wildlife care projects.

These grants are available to not-for-profit organisations and community groups operating within the Brisbane Local Government Area. Applicants must ensure their projects align with the Council’s environmental objectives and have written approval from the landowner if the project is on Council-owned land.

The grants are divided into two categories. Category 1 provides funding between $1,000 and $20,000 for specific environmental and community garden projects, covering costs for materials and services directly related to the project. Community garden projects are eligible for up to $2,500. Category 2 supports operational and administrative expenses up to $8,000 for community groups with an environmental focus. However, this category is not available for community garden applicants.

Eligible projects include habitat restoration, native plantings, wildlife monitoring, and the establishment or maintenance of community gardens. The grants aim to foster community involvement and contribute to Brisbane’s environmental sustainability goals. Applications are submitted through the Council’s online system, SmartyGrants, and must adhere to the specified guidelines and criteria.
