Call for Applications: Monnaboy Community Benefit Fund (UK)

Trust Waikato Community Response Funding Program (New Zealand)

Deadline: 23-Oct-2025

The Monnaboy Community Benefit Fund provides support for local voluntary and community groups in the Greysteel area and surroundings, especially those within seven kilometres of the Monnaboy Wind Farm.

It aims to strengthen communities and share the benefits brought by wind-farm development by backing projects that engage local people, improve shared spaces, and address social challenges.

Grants of up to £2,500 are available for projects that fall within the fund’s priority areas. These include programmes focused on developing skills among young adults or those who are unemployed, tackling rural isolation, fostering intergenerational relationships, supporting community arts, and improving the use of existing community venues or outdoor spaces.

To be eligible, organisations must be located within the 7km straight-line radius of the wind farm. Applicants must be constituted community groups or voluntary organisations, possess a governing document like a constitution, maintain a bank account in the organisation’s name, and be up to date with their annual accounts. Applicants must also demonstrate active involvement of local people in the design or delivery of their project.

There are exclusions: the fund does not support individuals, retrospective cost funding, or projects whose core purposes are advancement of religion, political campaigning, or other activities contrary to the fund’s values. Grants are reviewed by the foundation and any prior grant-conditions, including previous reporting or monitoring, must be satisfied.
