Nominations are open for community members, and groups, to nominate someone who makes a real difference in your town and to give them the opportunity to be rewarded and recognised for their important contribution.
The Awards reward and recognise individuals and organisations that have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year, and/or given an outstanding service over a number of years, to a local community over and above normal employment duties.
Outstanding contribution and community service includes areas such as; education, health, fund-raising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts, the environment, or any other area that contributes to the advancement and wellbeing of a community.
Categories
Each year the Regional Council of Goyder seeks nominations from the Goyder community for the following 4 categories in each of the 4 Council wards-

Citizen of the Year Award
- Presented to someone in your community making an extraordinary contribution to the community

Young Citizen of the Year Award
- Presented to an emerging leader who is making a difference in the community

Community Event of the Year Award
- Presented to a person or group who has stages the most outstanding event for their community

Active Citizenship (new award for 2022)
- Presented to a person or group delivering outstanding work on an event or project during the past calendar year.
