CBH Grass Roots Community Grants to Support Regional Initiatives (Australia)

ISTAT Foundation Grant Program to support Aviation Community

Deadline: 31-Aug-2025

CBH has opened applications for its Grass Roots Community Grants program, designed to support community-led projects in grain-growing regions of Western Australia.

The focus areas of the program include community-related events with a maximum funding limit of $10,000, and small-scale infrastructure projects with a maximum funding limit of $20,000. Projects must be located within a grain-growing community in WA, fit with CBH’s purpose, values and behaviour, align with at least one of CBH’s Community Investment Fund Framework pillars, and be completed within 12 months of funds being awarded.

The Grass Roots Community Grants program aims to help regional communities deliver meaningful events and essential infrastructure that directly benefit local people. Eligible applicants include community groups, schools without a P&C, Community Resource Centres, and shires applying for infrastructure projects. Applications must clearly demonstrate the importance of the project, its expected impact, and provide a detailed budget with evidence to support listed costs. Strong applications will include supporting documentation, such as photos highlighting the need for the project, letters of support from other groups, and evidence of local contributions through funding or in-kind support.

CBH has outlined strict exclusions to ensure grants are aligned with community development objectives. Projects will not be funded if they are commercial in nature, fundraising activities, religious or political purposes, operational expenses such as salaries or administration costs, or if they fall under the primary responsibility of government. Additionally, retrospective funding or projects scheduled during the application and judging periods are ineligible.

Applications are assessed by a CBH panel, with outcomes typically communicated within six weeks of the closing date. While the grant amount awarded may differ from the amount requested, successful applicants must deliver projects within 12 months and notify CBH in case of delays. Payments will be made once the project has been accepted and valid bank account details are provided.
