RomanoNet invites applications from Roma and pro-Roma civil society organizations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to strengthen Roma communities and promote fundamental rights and European Union values. Program Goals and Objectives
The initiative aims to:
- Strengthen Roma and pro-Roma civil society capacities.
- Promote awareness and monitoring of EU values: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law, and human rights.
- Support Roma access to fundamental rights and promote social inclusion.
- Advocate a human-rights-based perspective on Roma issues and combat antigypsyism.
- Monitor the implementation of national Roma integration strategies at local, regional, or national levels.
- Foster cooperation between Roma communities, non-Roma civil society, and public institutions.
Funding and Duration
- Total budget: €250,000
- Maximum grant per project: €25,000
- Implementation period: 1 September 2026 – 30 September 2027 (13 months)
- Application limit: One project per organization; consortiums are not eligible.
- Financial contribution or volunteer work from applicants is not required and provides no advantage.
Eligibility Criteria
- Legally registered non-profit organizations operating in the Czech Republic or Slovakia.
- Organizations must operate independently from governments, political parties, and profit-driven entities.
- Must have a clearly defined mission and internal structure, be transparent and accountable, and have no outstanding debts.
- Priority is given to Roma organizations (majority Roma leadership/staff).
- Smaller non-profits with average annual income under €50,000 over the last three years receive additional evaluation points.
- Organizations funded under ROVA 2025 are not eligible.
Fundable Activities
- Capacity-building: coaching, mentoring, staff training.
- Public awareness campaigns on rights, inclusion, and EU values.
- Advocacy and monitoring: legal counseling, policy analysis, government oversight.
