CFPs: Councillor Community Grant Scheme in United Kingdom

Grant Competition: Support for Polish Communities in the area of activating Civic Attitudes

Deadline: 05-Dec-2025

The South Oxfordshire District Council is accepting applications for its Councillor Community Grant Scheme to support community projects and initiatives that will deliver better outcomes for South Oxfordshire residents as well as contributing to the achievement of the Council Plan priorities.

The scheme is designed to fund initiatives that deliver tangible outcomes for residents within the councillor’s ward. Grants range from a minimum of £250 up to the full allocation of £7,500 per councillor, subject to budget availability. In wards represented by multiple councillors, applications may be considered collectively, and funding can be sought for up to five wards. Capital projects must have a total cost of £15,000 or less, while revenue projects are not subject to a maximum limit. Councillors may fund up to 100 percent of a project’s total cost, and all projects must be completed within 12 months of the award decision.

Eligible applicants include town and parish councils, which may collaborate with unconstituted local groups to submit applications on their behalf. Not-for-profit preschools and PTAs associated with local authority or academy schools may apply for funding for non-statutory elements of education programs. Local not-for-profit organisations, including companies limited by guarantee that do not distribute profits to members, are also eligible if their primary purpose is to benefit residents of South Oxfordshire.

Applicants must have a bank account in the organisation’s name, provide a copy of their governing document if requested, and ensure that the proposed project aligns with the organisation’s objectives. Additionally, all necessary consents, such as planning permission, listed building consent, landlord or diocesan approval, or compliance with property title restrictions, must be in place and available on request. Organisations must also have named officers, members, or trustees serving on a management committee or board.

This grant scheme offers councillors a valuable opportunity to support initiatives that strengthen community life, enhance local services, and deliver meaningful benefits to residents across South Oxfordshire. It provides flexible funding to help communities develop, grow, and address local needs through well-planned and impactful projects.
