CFPs: Implementation of Gender, Social Cohesion, Protection and Accountability to affected Populations Activities in Ghana

Call for Proposals: CSO consultations on Beijing +30 to Review Gender Equality Gains in India

Deadline: 15-Aug-2025

The UN World Food Programme (WFP Ghana) is delivering emergency food assistance to vulnerable populations affected by prolonged dry spells in Northern Ghana. This support comes through cash transfers and nutrition voucher activities, funded by the Republic of Korea.

The project aims to address urgent needs among these communities, build resilience, promote financial inclusion, and improve meal quality—especially for pregnant and breastfeeding women. It focuses on gender equality and women’s empowerment, along with training, capacity building, and livelihood support.

Community mobilization, coexistence with local communities, technical and vocational education, and protection services such as family reunification and gender-based violence prevention are also key parts of the initiative. The project includes three main components: cash transfers to vulnerable households in the Northern, Savanna, Upper West, and Oti regions; nutrition vouchers for pregnant and breastfeeding women in the Northern Region; and strengthening gender, protection, social cohesion, and accountability, guided by the “Do no harm” humanitarian principle.

The geographic focus is on Northern Ghana. Expected results include strengthened community structures, enhanced collaboration with local authorities, capacity building on gender and protection, women’s economic empowerment, and increased participation of women in peacebuilding efforts. The project also promotes cultural understanding, tolerance, social cohesion, and effective monitoring and reporting.

Selection criteria for proposals emphasize relevance to expected results, cost-effectiveness, accountability to communities, contribution of resources, sustainability, and innovative approaches.
