Champion Awards for the Youth of Laguna (Philippines)

Deadline: 16-Sep-2025

Sibol 2025 is part of the flagship program of Gawad Kampeon para sa Kabataan ng Laguna, organized in partnership with Gawad Laguna Inc., ModelSK, and the Youth Development Affairs Office of Laguna, to provide seed grants that recognize and support outstanding youth organizations in Laguna in implementing sustainable community projects.

The focus areas include projects that focus on the environment and natural water resources, livelihood, education and health, technological innovation and digital literacy, and history, tourism, culture, and the arts. These categories are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, including Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life Below Water, Life on Land, No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, Partnerships for the Goals, Gender Equality, and Reduced Inequalities.

Youth organizations in Laguna are invited to submit proposals for sustainable projects that will be implemented within a three-month period in any city or municipality of the province. Each project team must consist of at least five members with designated roles such as project leader, secretary, treasurer, auditor, and PRO. Proposals may be submitted in English or Filipino, and each organization may submit up to two proposals regardless of category.

The program process is divided into three phases: submission, judging, and implementation. During the pre-judging phase, proposals will be assessed based on presentation, innovation and creativity, feasibility, social and ethical considerations, impact and sustainability, and the quality of members. Qualified proposals will then proceed to the final judging phase, which will be conducted online, where teams must pitch their projects within twenty minutes.

Winners will be recognized in two levels. Four best project proposals, one for each category, will receive PHP 25,000 each for project implementation and the titles of Champion of the Environment 2025, Champion of Livelihood, Education and Health 2025, Champion of Technological Advancement 2025, and Champion of Culture 2025. Ten additional outstanding proposals, regardless of category, will each receive PHP 5,000 and a special mention. The awarding ceremony is scheduled for the second week of October 2025.

All program outputs resulting from the winning projects will be considered shared accomplishments of the participating organizations, Gawad Laguna Inc., the Youth Development Affairs Office of Laguna, and the Province of Laguna. Winning organizations are also required to submit accomplishment reports by the culmination date or as requested by the Sibol 2025 Team.
