Community Development Fund Annual Grants Program in Australia

#image_title

Deadline: 01-Aug-2025

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is inviting applications for its Community Development Fund grants, aimed at supporting local participation, projects, events, and facility improvements. These grants focus on meeting the recreational, social, and cultural needs of the community.

The Shire has a strong tradition of collaborating with local groups and supports them through its annual Community Development Grants program. These grants are available for projects that align with the community’s vision as outlined in the Strategic Community Plan. Projects should foster community connection, increase public participation, and deliver social, cultural, environmental, or economic benefits.

Grant amounts vary depending on the project type. Community events and volunteer initiatives can receive up to $5,000, while equipment upgrades and minor capital works may be eligible for up to $10,000 in funding.

To be eligible, projects must benefit the local community, align with program goals, fit into one of the four funding categories, and be completed within 12 months of approval. Projects already underway or completed before applying are not eligible.

Certain projects are not eligible for funding, such as those with political or religious intent, activities for private or commercial gain, requests for ongoing operational costs, or services that duplicate existing infrastructure. Religious organizations can apply, but their project must be non-religious and benefit the wider community.

Applicants must be not-for-profit groups based in the Shire, either incorporated or applying under an incorporated group (not the Shire). They must hold a valid ABN, have public liability insurance, and show they can carry out the proposed project. All previous grant obligations must be up to date.
