Devonport City Council: Major Grant Program – Australia

Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine announces Small Grants Program

Deadline: 27-Aug-2025

Devonport City Council is inviting applications for its Major Grant Program to support organisations with one-off projects, events, and activities. This Community Grants Program aims to help community organisations deliver initiatives that enhance the liveability, health, and wellbeing of the Devonport community.

Applications must focus on at least one priority area: health and wellbeing, culture, environment, or community events. The maximum grant amount available is $25,000.

Eligible projects need to demonstrate a clear public purpose that meets significant community needs and benefits. They must strongly align with the Council’s priorities and comply with the program’s terms and conditions.

Funding cannot be used for ongoing operational or recurrent costs, including salaries, rent, fuel, administration, cleaning, gardening, or insurance. Projects that have already started or received previous funding are not eligible. Prize money, trophies, and travel expenses for competitions, performances, or conferences are also excluded.

Only not-for-profit community organisations or associations that are legally incorporated or operate under the auspices of one can apply. These groups must operate within the Devonport local government area or demonstrate that their project benefits Devonport residents. Applicants must have public liability insurance, no outstanding debts to Council (or be meeting agreed payment plans), and must have completed any previous grant acquittals.

Applications from government agencies, for-profit entities, or organisations that have failed to acquit previous Council grants will not be considered.

Grant applications will be assessed on the demonstrated need and community benefit, alignment with Council priorities, evidence of community support or partnerships, contribution to increasing organisational self-sufficiency, value for money including local purchasing, and the applicant’s capacity to successfully complete the project.
