The Minister for Children, Disability and Equality has announced that applications are now open for the LGBTIQ+ Community Services Fund. This funding initiative is designed to support and uplift the LGBTIQ+ community in Ireland.
The main goal of the fund is to promote inclusion, protect rights, and improve the quality of life and wellbeing for LGBTIQ+ individuals. It aims to ensure full participation of community members in all aspects of Irish life—social, economic, cultural, and political.
There are two funding streams available. Scheme A supports LGBTIQ+ community organisations in delivering services and initiatives. Scheme B focuses on promoting visibility and inclusion of LGBTIQ+ persons.
A total of €1.4 million is available to groups operating at national, regional, and local levels. The funding will help strengthen community services and promote greater awareness and acceptance of the LGBTIQ+ community.
Scheme A is open to LGBTIQ+ NGOs and community organisations that provide direct support to the community. Scheme B is also open to similar organisations, with a particular focus on supporting adult members of the LGBTIQ+ population.
Local Authorities are not eligible to apply for this round of funding. Additionally, individuals acting alone cannot submit applications.
