Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka launches Small Scale Projects

Call for Applications: Local Enhancement Grant Programme in Ireland

Deadline: 30-Sep-2025

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka has announced a new funding opportunity for small-scale development projects in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, scheduled for implementation in 2026.

This initiative is designed to bolster projects that align with each country’s development priorities, offering grants ranging from approximately CZK 200,000 to CZK 500,000. While funded activities should deliver tangible developmental benefits, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and co-financing are key evaluation criteria. Applications that showcase collaboration using Czech expertise or technology may receive added consideration.

To apply, organizations must be registered in one of the eligible countries, demonstrate non-profit status, and be capable of contracting under Czech legal jurisdiction. Applicants are required to submit documents including proof of legal identity and authorization, both electronically and in hard copy. The application process concludes with an online form, and proposals arriving after the deadline will not be accepted. Local non-profit entities—such as NGOs, civic associations, and academic institutions—are invited to submit proposals.

This call offers a valuable opportunity for grassroots development initiatives to access strategic support, foster local innovation, and create meaningful community impact across southern Africa.
