Deadline: 23-Dec-2025
The Community Climate Action Programme (CCAP) is an initiative of the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment designed to support local-level actions addressing climate change and promoting the creation of low carbon and climate-resilient communities.
The focus of the programme is to address climate change at a local level and support the delivery of low carbon and climate resilient communities. Administered locally by Cork County Council in collaboration with the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, the programme is funded through an allocation from the national Climate Action Fund.
Cork County Council has received a total of €1,241,000 from the Department to implement Call 2 of the Community Climate Action Programme (CCAP), Strand 1. Funding is available for up to 100% of the project, and prospective applicants can apply under three eligible project sizes: small scale projects under €20,000, medium scale projects between €20,000 and €50,000, and large scale projects between €51,000 and €100,000.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all necessary planning and regulatory permissions and consents are secured before submitting their proposals. The programme places full responsibility on the applicant to verify that their project has adequately considered and obtained these requirements. Projects that require planning permission will only be considered eligible for funding if such permission is granted prior to the application submission. Those that do not meet this condition will automatically be deemed ineligible for funding.
Evaluation of eligible projects will follow the criteria set out in the CCAP Call 2 – Strand 1 Evaluation Criteria document. Through this process, the programme aims to identify and support initiatives that demonstrate strong potential for advancing Ireland’s transition toward a sustainable, low carbon, and climate-resilient future.
