Deadline: 28-Nov-2025
The regional project “EU Support to Confidence Building in the Western Balkans” is financed by the European Union and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to foster healing, trust, and youth participation in the aftermath of the tragic events that occurred in March 2025.
The objectives of the re-granting mechanism are community healing and resilience, trust-building between citizens and institutions, youth empowerment and civic engagement, public awareness and advocacy, and creative and cultural expressions for recovery. These include initiatives that provide psychosocial support, cultural, educational, or artistic activities that help citizens process grief, strengthen solidarity, and rebuild social ties; activities that foster constructive dialogue, cooperation, and confidence between the community, youth councils, local government, and institutions; projects that engage young people as leaders in building trust, solidarity, and social cohesion through volunteering, advocacy, or innovative initiatives; campaigns, events, or platforms that promote solidarity, mutual support, and a culture of peace in Kochani; and the use of art, sports, and cultural initiatives as tools for community healing, inclusion, and positive narratives of unity.
Financial resources to support the re-granting mechanism for the Republic of North Macedonia amount to EUR 47,000, which will be distributed according to the final decision of a regional Selection Committee in line with project documentation. The maximum amount per grant is EUR 9,400, ensuring that selected initiatives have the resources to deliver tangible impact within the local community.
Eligible applicants must be civil society organizations registered in the Republic of North Macedonia and based in Kochani. Partner organizations may come from nearby municipalities or operate at the national level with ongoing activities in Kochani. Partnerships may include formal and informal civic associations, grassroots groups, community-based initiatives, citizen initiatives, and voluntary associations, encouraging collaboration and inclusivity in addressing community needs.
