Funding for Nonprofits/Quality of Life Grants in US

Small Grants Programme for World Day for Assistive Technology

Deadline: 07-Oct-2025

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is seeking applications for its Quality of Life Grants Program to support people living with paralysis, their families, and caregivers.

This program provides grants to nonprofit organizations across all 50 states and U.S. territories that promote community engagement, acceptance, and improved health and wellness for those affected by paralysis.

These grants support a wide range of projects aimed at enhancing access, independent living, and community involvement for people living with paralysis caused by spinal cord injuries, diseases, or birth conditions such as stroke, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and ALS.

Eligible applicants include IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, municipal and state governments, school districts, recognized tribal entities, and institutions like community or veterans hospitals. Organizations must hold their own 501(c)(3) status or be part of a national nonprofit with such status. Fiscal sponsors are not permitted to apply on behalf of nonprofits lacking this status.

The program offers several tiers of funding. The Direct Effect (Tier 1) grants range from $5,000 to $24,999 and support projects that directly impact individuals living with paralysis and their families. These grants are available twice a year during the spring and fall cycles.

The Priority Impact grants (Tiers 2 to 4) provide higher levels of funding focused on specific community priorities. Tier 2 offers up to $30,000 for projects related to assistive technology, disaster preparedness, and respite caregiving. Tier 3 provides up to $40,000 for initiatives serving rural, unserved, and underserved populations. Tier 4 grants, up to $50,000, focus on employment and nursing home transition.

The Quality of Life Grants Program remains committed to aiding both grassroots organizations and established agencies that make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with paralysis throughout the United States.
