Nominations for the NSW Government Get Ready Community Award 2022 are now open to recognise and celebrate the work communities do to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.
Eligibility Criteria
- All finalists will be notified by email or a phone call within 6 weeks of the application closing date. Unsuccessful applications will be notified by email and can find out the winning result after the 2022 ceremony.
- Applications need to show participation across the community and are open to initiatives that have been completed along with work that is underway or ongoing. If you can demonstrate the value of the initiative in building your community’s resilience to disasters, it will be award worthy!
Selection Criteria
The community initiative or project:
- must be current or recent, launched on or after 1 January 2021
- must be initiated and managed by the local community
- shows strong collaboration and partnerships across the community and involvement of community members
- has strengthened the resilience of the local community to disasters through community participation in
- disaster planning, preparedness, response and/or recovery
