The Gulf Area Community Social Development Trust, established by the Queensland Government, provides funding opportunities to support the social, educational, cultural, and health development of communities in the Gulf region of Queensland.
The objectives of the Trust are projects identified as a result of the assessment of social impact of resource development and other major projects in the region, social and community development activities, personal development activities, education of residents through bursaries or scholarships for secondary and tertiary studies where no other bursary or scholarship has been awarded to the applicant for the same period of study, projects providing low scale infrastructure projects where an identified social issue can be improved by such a project, and improvement of the health of Gulf residents
Eligible organisations can apply for grants of up to $30,000 to implement projects that create measurable social impact and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
The term “organisation” is broadly defined, encompassing community organisations, educational institutions, charitable and religious groups, youth organisations, cultural and health bodies, and other special interest groups. This inclusive approach encourages diverse applications from entities working toward social betterment in the Gulf region.
