Kaipātiki Local Grant and Facilities Grant in New Zealand

#image_title

Deadline: 10-Oct-2025

The Kaipātiki Local Grant and Facilities Grant provides funding to support a wide range of projects that strengthen community life and contribute to local development.

With grants starting from $1,000, the program funds initiatives in arts, community development, environment, events, heritage, and sports and recreation.

The program is closely aligned with the Kaipātiki Local Board Plan 2023, focusing on key areas of belonging and wellbeing, environment, places and spaces, transport and connections, and opportunity and prosperity. By linking projects to these priorities, the grant ensures that funding delivers long-lasting benefits across the community.

Priority is given to applications that create opportunities for all residents, particularly where access is open and not restricted to members of the applicant organization. Projects that are based in the Kaipātiki area, encourage participation, and celebrate diversity are especially valued. Initiatives that protect the environment through pest control, waste minimisation, and tree planting, as well as projects that preserve heritage sites and tell the stories of local history, are considered important contributions.

Applications that promote intergenerational engagement, improve public facilities, and provide safe, inclusive spaces for active participation also receive strong support. In contrast, applications for travel, fundraising events, or activities that primarily serve groups outside Kaipātiki are considered a lower priority unless clear benefits for the local community can be demonstrated.

To be eligible, facilities must be located in the Kaipātiki Local Board area and demonstrate community use within the past year. Projects must remain publicly accessible and meet a clear community need. Applicants are expected to secure relevant consents, approvals, and insurance before funding is released, ensuring accountability and readiness for implementation.

The Kaipātiki Local Grant and Facilities Grant reflects the board’s commitment to empowering local groups, enhancing community spaces, and building connections that make the area a vibrant and inclusive place to live. It provides a vital opportunity for community-led initiatives to grow and deliver real impact for Kaipātiki residents.
