Limerick Regeneration Framework Implementation Plan Economic and Social Intervention Fund (Ireland)

Deadline: 08-Oct-2025

The Limerick City and County Council has announced the opening of applications for the Economic and Social Intervention Fund (ESIF) 2026.

The fund is a key mechanism to tackle disadvantage across Limerick City and plays a central role in advancing the vision of the Limerick Regeneration Programme, which seeks to build “safe and sustainable communities of opportunity where people of all ages enjoy a good quality of life, a decent home and a sense of pride about their place.”

For 2026, the total allocation for ESIF stands at €1.5 million. Funding is available to support projects under five priority themes: Community, Education and Learning, Employability and Work, Families and Youth at Risk, and Health, Wellbeing and Ageing Well. These themes reflect the Council’s commitment to improving social outcomes, fostering inclusion, and ensuring that communities can thrive.

Organisations awarded funding will be required to maintain detailed financial and statistical records and provide evidence of the successful delivery of all project outputs and outcomes. Reporting will be streamlined through structured application and outcome forms designed to align planned objectives with actual results. Successful applicants must also enter into a Service Level Agreement with Limerick City and County Council, ensuring compliance with all funding conditions. In addition, all projects will be subject to a post-payment evaluation procedure to guarantee accountability and measure the impact of the fund.

This significant investment through ESIF 2026 represents an opportunity for organisations to play a vital role in addressing disadvantage and supporting communities across Limerick.
