New Zealand: Submissions open for Orakei Local Grant 2025

Sex Worker Giving Circle Fellowship Program 2025

Deadline: 15-Aug-2025

Auckland Council is inviting submissions for the Orakei Local Grant. This funding opportunity supports a range of local projects, including those related to arts, community, environment, events, heritage, and sports and recreation.

Grants range in value from $3,000 to $10,000. The Orakei Local Board gives higher priority to groups that can show a match funding approach, which includes contributions in time, money, or in-kind services from the community.

Priority is also given to events or activities that take place within the Orakei local board area and clearly benefit the local community. Preference is shown for applicants who have explored other funding sources or contributed their own financial or volunteer resources.

The Board will consider other types of projects and activities, but certain applications are seen as lower priority. These include those from commercial entities, events that generate substantial ticket revenue, and requests for catering or general operational costs.

Lower priority is also given to activities primarily benefiting communities outside the Orakei area or school projects that do not offer broader community advantages. Operational costs like salaries are generally not funded unless they involve professional services beyond the applicant’s expertise, such as planning or engineering.
