NOFO: Alzheimer’s Disease Programs Initiative in the US

Open call for First Nations Environmental Contaminants Program - Canada

Deadline: 25-Aug-2025

The Administration for Community Living has announced the Alzheimer’s Disease Programs Initiative (ADPI) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to strengthen the delivery of dementia-capable home and community-based services (HCBS) in Indian Country. This initiative aims to support federally recognized tribes, tribal organizations, and consortiums by building systems that offer high-quality, strengths-based, and person-centered care. The goal is to help individuals living with dementia and their caregivers remain safe and independent within their communities.

The NOFO includes two application tracks. Option A is for tribes and tribal entities that have previously received ADPI funding and wish to expand on their existing programs. Option B is for tribes and tribal entities new to the ADPI program, who plan to enhance their service systems by integrating dementia care. Successful applicants will need to show tribal leadership support and demonstrate their authority to carry out the proposed activities.

A total of $2 million is available under this funding opportunity, with individual awards ranging from $200,000 to $300,000. Funded projects will run for a total of 36 months, divided into three 12-month budget periods.

This is a limited competition opportunity open only to tribes, tribal organizations, and consortiums representing federally recognized tribes. Eligible applicants must already be responsible for and actively delivering home and community-based services in tribal communities. Foreign entities are not eligible to apply or receive funding under this program.
