Open Call for Annual Grant Round – Australia

Apply Now: Grants for International Promotion of Swedish Literature and Drama

Deadline: 21-Aug-2025

Tour de Cure has opened its Annual Grant Round to support efforts in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and support for individuals and families affected by cancer. The initiative aims to promote awareness and understanding around cancer and assist eligible charities in advancing research and support projects aligned with these goals.

The program also raises public awareness of Tour de Cure’s mission and engages with communities through events like cycling to solicit donations. Funds are provided to charities or used to cover short-term accommodation and other necessary expenses for cancer patients and their families during treatment.

Several grant categories are available. These include Senior, Mid-Career, and Early Career Research Grants for projects that align with Tour de Cure’s objectives and support the professional growth of researchers. PhD Scholarships support full-time students and allow a portion of funds for equipment and research costs. A new category, the Early Identification Research Grant, focuses on early detection and diagnostics. Matching Grants support research or infrastructure projects with co-funding from the applicant’s organisation.

Support Grants fund non-research projects that help cancer patients and their families. Prevention Grants back initiatives aimed at reducing cancer incidence through education, awareness, or applied research. Local Grants, not awarded during the main grant round, focus on brain cancer research and encourage innovative thinking and clinical application.

Funding amounts vary by category, with Senior Research and Local Grants offering up to $200,000, and other grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Matching Grants may total up to $200,000 with co-contributions.

Eligibility depends on the applicant’s career stage and their organisation’s status. Applicants must be affiliated with an Eligible Organisation and meet specific criteria related to their research experience or student status. Some flexibility exists for those with career disruptions. Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents, or have applied for permanent residency, with confirmation required before grant funds are released. Each Eligible Organisation is limited to two applications per grant category, but Tour de Cure may fund multiple strong projects from a single institution.
