Open Call: Youthtown Grant Program (New Zealand)

Bureau of Land Management Oregon/Washington Youth Conservation Corps Program (US)

Deadline: 31-Aug-2025

The Youthtown Grant Program is now accepting applications from eligible not-for-profit and charitable organizations. The program aims to support initiatives that benefit youth and contribute to community well-being.

Organizations may submit one successful grant application per year. Exceptions can be made by the Grants Committee for grants up to $50,000, or by the Board for larger amounts. This rule does not prevent regional or local branches from applying if their national organization has already received funding. For grants over $50,000, recipients may be required to show how the funding has benefited the community.

Youthtown funds projects that align with its authorized purposes. These include developing and operating Youthtown programs and facilities, promoting amateur youth sports through recognized sporting organizations, and supporting youth participation in outdoor, cultural, arts, music, and drama activities. Financial support is also available for community-based organizations that provide direct or indirect benefits to youth, as well as any charitable or non-commercial initiatives that benefit a community or a section of it.

Certain types of projects are not eligible for funding. These include expenses already incurred, projects where Youthtown venues gain commercially, private or political ventures, and activities already funded by another source. Multi-year grants, fundraising efforts, professional or unaffiliated sports, affiliation fees, prizes, catering, and anything related to the horse-racing industry are also excluded.

The grant program is focused on New Zealand, specifically in areas where Youthtown operates gaming venues. Eligible applicants include incorporated not-for-profit groups with charitable aims, regional and community organizations based where the funds were raised, and amateur sports groups affiliated with recognized national bodies.

National-level organizations may also apply if they can clearly demonstrate how their projects will benefit regional and community levels.
