The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and eligible local Councils, delivered through Arts Queensland.
This initiative is designed to support and grow the role of arts, culture and heritage as central to inclusive, diverse communities and vibrant regional development. Through RADF, local Councils are able to tailor programs to suit their unique community needs, ensuring that funding directly reflects local priorities and aspirations.
The fund is guided by objectives that aim to deliver real public value for Queensland communities while also building local cultural capacity, sparking innovation, and instilling community pride. By aligning with the Queensland Government’s broader community goals, RADF strengthens the role of the arts as a catalyst for engagement, connection and regional identity.
For the Bundaberg region, local RADF priorities focus on investing in people, places and projects that create meaningful impact. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate how their initiatives employ professional artists or artsworkers, deliver tangible benefits to the community, and address urgent needs for support. These local priorities provide a strategic direction that ensures each funded project contributes to a stronger cultural ecosystem.
Funding of up to $2,000 is available for eligible applicants. Individual professional artists, artsworkers and arts organisations can apply, provided they meet certain requirements. Applicants must reside in the Bundaberg Regional Council area—or show a strong case for how their project benefits the region—hold current Public Liability Insurance, and have fulfilled obligations from previous RADF or Council funding. Those under 18 are also eligible to apply, though they must nominate an auspice organisation or responsible adult to administer the grant.
By providing this targeted and flexible support, the RADF continues to play a key role in fostering cultural growth and ensuring that local communities in Bundaberg and beyond can access, create and celebrate the arts.
