RFAs: Dunmore Community Benefit Fund in United Kingdom

Canada Fund for Local Initiatives in Democratic Republic of Congo

Deadline: 23-Oct-2025

The Dunmore Community Benefit Fund is a local initiative established by Gaelectric and now managed by Netro Energy, a wind energy company committed to ensuring that wind farms provide significant economic benefits to the local community alongside environmental benefits.

The fund aims to support community projects within a 13-mile radius of the Dunmore Wind Farm, focusing on areas such as Greysteel, Derry~Londonderry, and surrounding rural communities. The fund offers grants to voluntary and community groups that address various local needs, including tackling rural isolation, promoting intergenerational activities, enhancing community cohesion, and supporting skills development, particularly for young adults and the unemployed.

Projects that encourage greater community interaction and cohesion, as well as those that improve the utilization of existing community spaces, are also prioritized. The fund encourages applications from organizations that demonstrate a clear community benefit and have the capacity to manage and deliver projects effectively. By providing financial support to local initiatives, the Dunmore Community Benefit Fund contributes to the social and economic development of the surrounding areas, fostering a more connected and resilient community.

Grants of up to £2,500 are available for projects that deliver clear benefits to the community. Eligible proposals include initiatives that enhance community cohesion, encourage participation, promote sustainability and environmental awareness, support education or training, offer social, cultural or sporting opportunities, or contribute to economic development.

Organisations seeking support need to be constituted community or voluntary groups based within the fund boundary. Applicants must show that their project is for the direct benefit of local residents, and that they have the structures in place to manage and deliver their project.
