RFAs: The Shire of Carnarvon’s Community Growth Fund Program (Australia)

Apply now for Community Project Grant (Australia)

Deadline: 12-Nov-2025

The Shire of Carnarvon’s Community Growth Fund Program aims to empower local organisations by providing financial support for projects that contribute to the sustainable development and well-being of the region.

This initiative focuses on promoting social, cultural, environmental, sporting, and economic growth within the Carnarvon community. Through grants, sponsorships, and donations, the Shire supports organisations that enhance community life, foster inclusivity, and create opportunities for participation and engagement across diverse groups.

The Community Growth Fund offers a maximum of $5,000 per project. Applicants are required to complete an application form detailing how the funding will be used and provide relevant quotes to support their proposed budget. This ensures that projects are well-planned, feasible, and deliver strong community outcomes within the available funding limits.

Funding under the program is designed to support projects that activate and engage local spaces, foster inclusivity and accessibility, and improve the visual and cultural appeal of the community. Eligible projects may involve creative community activities, heritage celebrations, or initiatives that draw people to live, work, and invest in Carnarvon. Funding can also assist with essential materials, equipment, and operational expenses such as insurance or venue hire. Additionally, the program allows for costs related to marketing, promotion, and catering when these are part of broader community-building efforts.

The program emphasises projects that deliver measurable community and social benefits. This includes initiatives that improve well-being and capacity, especially those supporting youth, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, seniors, and people with disabilities. By funding inclusive and engaging projects, the Shire seeks to strengthen local identity and community cohesion while promoting a thriving, connected, and culturally rich region.

To be eligible, applicants must be incorporated not-for-profit organisations based within the Shire of Carnarvon and aligned with the Shire’s Strategic Community Plan. They must hold relevant public liability insurance, have no outstanding debts to the Shire, and demonstrate their capacity to deliver a high-quality project within 12 months of approval.

The program does not fund private, commercial, or political ventures, salaries or wages, retrospective projects, or any initiatives that do not directly benefit the Carnarvon community. Funding will not be provided for personal expenses, debt repayments, or high-risk assets. By maintaining clear eligibility criteria and funding priorities, the Community Growth Fund Program ensures that resources are directed toward initiatives that make a lasting and positive impact on the people and places of Carnarvon.
