RFPs: Developing Resilience and Reducing Malnutrition Grant Programme (Burkina Faso)

US: Capacity Building Grant for Small Nonprofits ($20,000 Unrestricted Grant)

Deadline: 04-Nov-2025

The World Food Programme is inviting applications for its Developing Resilience and Reducing Malnutrition Grant Programme to support the Government of Burkina Faso in its goal of Zero Hunger by 2030 with a series of activities focused on strengthening the capacities of the most vulnerable populations.

The initiative focuses on strengthening the capacities of vulnerable populations and building socio-economic, food, and nutritional resilience in communities. It emphasizes the creation and restoration of productive assets to enhance agricultural production, health services, and education, while facilitating access to essential social services.

Activities are guided by participatory community planning and aim to make food systems more resilient and inclusive by protecting them before, during, and after crises, restoring natural resources, supporting climate-resilient production, linking production to consumption, promoting healthy diets, and creating enabling environments for sustainable food systems.

WFP, in collaboration with government technical services, NGOs and associations, the private sector, universities, and research institutions, implements a three-pronged approach (3PA) to strengthen community resilience. This approach focuses on the creation and restoration of productive assets while facilitating access to basic social services. Activities are identified through participatory community planning, ensuring that interventions are tailored to the specific needs of local populations.

The program aims to reduce humanitarian needs by improving access to safe and nutritious food. This involves restoring ecosystems, rehabilitating agro-sylvopastoral production potential, supporting smallholder farmers, reducing dependence on imports, and improving food security and infrastructure.

This partner will also oversee food distributions for participants involved in productive asset creation. Eligible NGOs must be duly registered in Burkina Faso and operational in the intervention areas. The selected association or NGO will organize and monitor integrated resilience activities on the ground in collaboration with technical services, local authorities, and beneficiary communities.

Selection criteria for potential partners include local experience and presence, sector expertise, relevance of the proposal to achieving expected results, project management capacity, contribution of resources, and cost-effectiveness.

The deadline for applications is 4 November 2025.
