Nominations are now open for the Social Impact Award (SIA), a program for young people aged 15 to 30 who have innovative solutions to societal challenges and need mentoring and financial support to implement these solutions into sustainable projects.
Projects can address the following topics: poverty reduction, health, education, environment, energy, information and communication technologies, human rights, equal opportunities and the like.
SIA is working to create a community of young people who transform their intentions into actions. They do this through a series of events and workshops aimed at raising awareness about social entrepreneurship, teaching the skills necessary to turn general intentions into promising entrepreneurial ventures, providing access to various networks of peers and professionals and promoting the best teams through the Social Impact Award.
SIA is one of the largest international programs for the development of social entrepreneurship among young people, which, in addition to the knowledge, tools and techniques of social entrepreneurship, also gives them the confidence that they can be the initiator of positive change they want to see in the world. It is held in 14 countries on 3 continents, and in Serbia it has been implemented by the Razlivalište organization since 2014. This year, it is doing so with the support of Erste Bank, Vip mobile, Coca-Cola HBC Serbia, the US Embassy, SAP and the ERSTE Foundation.
Award Details
- This includes:
- Professional accelerator program from July to September each year
- Mentoring support
- Workshops and webinars
- Out of 10 finalists , 3 ideas selected by the jury will be awarded with € 1,500 start-up capital, free participation in an international conference and mentoring support . In addition, one award is given by the audience through online community voting , and the award includes participation in an international conference and mentoring support.
What?
- Existing ideas can be submitted if they were created after January 1, 2021.
- Applicants must not receive formal start-up support before applying. Formal start-up support is considered to be third party financial support in excess of € 3,000 (angel investments, grants, prizes…)
- Projects that competed in previous years, except for winning ones, may compete again next year if they meet other criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
All applications for the Social Impact Award 2022 must meet the following requirements:
- All members of the main team must be born between 1 January 1992 and 31 December 2007;
- The applicants did not participate in the SIA incubation nor did they win the SIA in previous years with the same idea;
- The idea was not legally grounded before January 1, 2021;
- The idea did not receive formal start-up support before applying. Formal start-up support is considered to be third party financial support in excess of € 3,000 (angel investments, grants, awards…)
- Only applications that are complete and submitted on time through their website will be considered.
