The United States Agency for International Development in Malawi (USAID/Malawi) is seeking applications for Broad Agency Announcement (BAA)- Limodzi Program, to co-create, co-design, co-invest, and collaborate on research and development interventions to strengthen citizen engagement and foster agency for change by testing new approaches to Malawi’s most critical development challenges.
The intent of the BAA is to allow co-creation and co-design to the maximum extent to create high quality, effective partnerships with great efficiency in time and resources. USAID will invite selected for-profit and non-profit, public and private organizations including those organizations that have ideas, expertise, resources, and/or funding to add to potential solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
- Malawian or regional for-profit, and nonprofit organizations, as well as institutions of higher education, public international organizations, non-governmental organizations are eligible under this BAA.
- This includes, but is not limited to, local civil society organizations, research and academic institutions, private sector, professional associations, arts groups, media, and religious/cultural associations.
- All organizations must be determined to be responsive to the BAA and sufficiently responsible to perform or participate in the final award type.
- Regional or other international partners are eligible to submit an EOI and may be invited to engage in co-design to contribute their ideas.
- However, regional or international partners will not be awarded funding as a prime recipient.
- Non-Malawian partners can be sub-awardees or subcontractors to Malawian awardees.
- Certain restrictions apply per local works’ authorizing legislation: Entities (local or international) which have received more than $5 million in aggregate in US government funds from any source over the past five years will not be eligible to receive awards.
