The International Centre for Climate Change and Development is inviting applications for its Youth Innovation Fund – Sponsoring Green Idea-Campaign to support and sponsors university-based clubs, departments, or youth groups working on innovative projects in the fields of climate change and development.

The fund’s objectives are to support innovative youth-led and youth-focused projects addressing climate change and environmental sustainability, strengthen the capacity of university-based clubs, departments, or youth groups to implement impactful initiatives, and promote solutions to improve the lives of climate-vulnerable communities in Bangladesh. Priority thematic areas include climate change adaptation and mitigation, pollution and waste management, disaster risk reduction, renewable energy, loss and damage, climate change conflict, women and inclusion, and activism and policy advocacy.

The Youth Innovation Fund will provide a grant amount of BDT 3,00,000 per year to up to four selected projects. In addition to the grant, the opportunity will offer dedicated mentorship from ICCCAD to help refine and implement projects. Grantees will also have opportunities to connect and collaborate with other selected projects and participate in learning exchanges through digital platforms and in-person meetings.

To be eligible, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old and be current university students. Applications must be submitted as a university club, department, or group working on a common project with a designated group leader. A university faculty member from a relevant department must be onboarded as a mentor. The fund will not support projects or affiliations of large NGOs, INGOs, government agencies, or for-profit businesses. It also will not support political campaigning, partisan activities, or organizations that discriminate or promote violence.

Selected grantees will be required to meet certain obligations. This includes submitting a progress report and a financial report on expenditure after every installment of the grant. A final set of narrative and financial reports must be submitted to ICCCAD upon the project’s completion. Grantees must also participate in the capacity development sessions arranged by ICCCAD. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2025.
