Call for Pakistani NGOs: Apply Now to carry out Projects in improving Public Corruption cases

State Capture and Beyond Project Grant Program in South Africa

Deadline: 31-May-22

The Bureau of International Narcotics-Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to: increase effectiveness of investigation and prosecution of public corruption crimes.

This project will increase accountability and improve the handling of public corruption cases of both investigators and prosecutors through concurrent training and cooperation. Increased ability to handle public corruption cases will be accomplished by providing training and mentoring to trainers and also directly to investigators and prosecutors.

The specific objectives are to increase: the number of appropriate public corruption charges by law enforcement, the effective prosecution of public corruption cases within a legally compressed timeframe and an increase in the number of successful prosecutions for these public corruption cases.

The training and mentoring will address the identification of unique public corruption case activities of both law enforcement and prosecution. To achieve an increase in successful prosecutions in public corruption cases the project will need to assist both law enforcement investigators and prosecutors in identifying the roles, responsibilities, and specific activities of each essential component of a public prosecution case. The project will ensure concurrence from both law enforcement and prosecutor leadership to ensure clear lines of responsibility for each aspect of the investigation and case prosecution process while maintaining consistent coordination throughout the life of the case. This concurrence of each of the respective components will be integrated into project training scheme.
