The Southern Africa Network for Biosciences (SANBio) is currently inviting applicants for its BioFISA II Programme in order to conduct training in scaling up nutrition products offered by organisations in the SANBio Member States to SMMEs and innovators from research institutions or otherwise in the SANBio Member States.
The main aim of this support is to enhance innovations in biosciences in the region through capacity and skills development, particularly focusing on the need to address the nutrition challenges faced by the region.
Thematic Areas (Not Limited)
- Food processing and handling Post-harvest technologies for long term preservation of food products, including canning and packaging
- Product development
- Value addition to fresh food products
Funding Information
The budget available from the BPU is ZAR 278 000 (VAT inclusive).
Eligibility Criteria
- The current SANBio Member States are eligible to apply: Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Lesotho, South Africa, Seychelles, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
- The trainers or course presenters must fulfill the following requirements:
- Hold at least a Postgraduate university degree
- Have at least 5 years of professional experience as a trainer, including at least five years acquired
- Able to demonstrate or have a proven track record of delivery of training (provide references and evaluations and reports for verification)
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills in English (Portuguese is an option),
- Excellent multi-cultural skills,
- Ability to work within a tight time frame and meet deadlines,
- Experience of working in the Southern African region, and
- It would be preferable if teams of presenters were available as opposed to a sole presenter.
