Deadline: 20-Jul-2025
The Minority Rights Group (MRG) is inviting project proposals to promote the rights of people with disabilities in the Southern Border Provinces (SBPs) of Thailand. The focus is on economic, social, and cultural rights.
The objective is to strengthen the capacity of organizations for people with disabilities (OPDs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and community-based organizations (CBOs) to advance disability rights in the region. The aim is to prepare these organizations for long-term impact, both organizationally and technically.
Grant amounts range from 5,000 to 8,000 Euros, with project durations of 6 to 12 months.
Supported activities include advocacy efforts such as preparing reports, planning meetings, monitoring, and public relations. Capacity building through training and workshops is encouraged to empower people with disabilities and their allies. The fund also supports government accountability through dialogue with agencies and stakeholders.
Projects may work on improving access to public services, legal training and assistance, and training for human rights defenders on disability, minority rights, and intersectionality. Creative communications, campaigns, and awareness-raising initiatives are also eligible.
To apply, organizations must be legally registered non-profits, CSOs, or CBOs operating in Thailand, with a bank account and experience in disability rights projects. Unregistered networks may apply if they meet these conditions and have a proven track record.
Organizations must have significant representation of disabled persons from the southern border provinces within their leadership or teams. OPDs based in the southern border provinces will be given special consideration.
Applicants must demonstrate basic project and financial management skills, including transparent accounting. They must not be on any sanctions list or linked to investigations for terrorism, corruption, or fund misappropriation.
