Mini-grant Competition for Civil Society Organizations in Ukraine

CFAs: Building Stronger Governance through Civil Society Engagement (Belize)

Deadline: 28-Sep-2025

The Right to Protection Foundation, with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF), announces a competition for mini-grants for civil society organizations.

The initiative is aimed at providing comprehensive assistance to individuals who rely on wheelchairs, prostheses, crutches, and other mobility aids, as well as veterans and others who have acquired disabilities as a result of the conflict.

Winners of the competition will have the opportunity to receive funding of up to 413,557 hryvnias to implement projects that directly improve the lives of people with disabilities.

The grant can support a wide range of activities, from small infrastructure repairs to ensure inclusive access—such as modifying entrance areas and upgrading bathrooms—to purchasing specialized equipment for rehabilitation, speech therapy, or psychological support rooms. Funding is also available for social services and individual support, including providing essential items like wheelchairs or mobility aids, as long as applicants can demonstrate both urgent need and long-term impact. Additionally, projects that promote social integration and community involvement of people with disabilities will be prioritized, helping foster inclusion and active participation in public life.

Beyond financial support, grantees will also benefit from organizational capacity assessments, mentoring for institutional development, and a duty of care package that provides protective equipment and insurance for staff working in front-line regions. This ensures that organizations not only receive resources for their projects but also strengthen their long-term ability to serve their communities.

Eligibility is open to public associations and charitable organizations registered no later than October 1, 2024, under nonprofit codes 0032 and 0036. These organizations should be dedicated to providing services for people with disabilities, improving infrastructure, and expanding access to educational, social, and humanitarian opportunities.

This competition provides a vital opportunity to create lasting, inclusive change by equipping local organizations with the resources and support they need to build stronger, more accessible communities for people with disabilities.
