The Government of India is seeking nominations for its National Award for Individual Excellence 2022 to recognize and encourage people which are working for the empowerment of persons with disabilities and persons who are suffering from any disability under Right of Persons with Disabilities Act (2016).
Decoration
- Sarvshrestha Divyangjan – A certificate, a medal and Cash component of Award: Rs. 2.00 lakh to each awardee.
- Shrestha Divyangjan – A certificate, a medal and Cash component of Award: Rs. 1.00 lakh to each awardee.
- Shrestha Divyang Bal /Balika – A certificate, a medal and Cash component of Award: Rs. 1.00 lakh to each awardee.
- Sarvshrestha Vyakti – Divyangjano Ke Sashaktikaran Ke Liye Karyarath – A Certificate, a medal and cash component of Award: Rs. 1.00 lakh to each awardee.
- Sarvshrestha Punarvas Peshevar (Rehabilitation Professional/worker) – Divyangatha Ke Kheshtra Mein Karyarath: A Certificate, a medal and cash component of Award: Rs. 1.00 lakh to each awardee.
- Sarvshrestha Anusandhan/ Navpravartan /Utpad Vikas -Divyangatha Ke Sashaktikaran Ke Kheshtra Mein: A Certificate, a medal and cash component of Award: Rs. 1.00 lakh to each awardee.
Who can nominate?
Any individual who is eligible may nominate himself/herself or on his/her behalf or on his/her Gurdian/Family member, with which he/she is associated.
Eligibility Criteria

For the following categories of National award for Individual Excellence any individual having benchmark disability of 40% percent or more in the category specified in the schedule to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, may nominate himself/herself for any one category of Awards as given below provided that he/she is not a recipient of any of the National Awards by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities during the past five years:-
- Sarvahrestha Divyangjan (above age of 18 years)

Shrestha Divyangjan (above age of 18 years) – The following are the subcategories and different type of disability:
- Locomotor Disability
- Visual Impairment
- Hearing Impairment
- Intellectual Disability
- Any specified Disability which is not mentioned above
- Shrestha Divyangjan Bal/Balika (upto age of 18 years)

For the following categories given below,of awardsany individual including any person with disability may nominate himself/herself for any one Category of Awards given below provided he/she has not been a recipient of any of the National Awards of the D/o Empowerment Persons With Disabilities during the past 5 years:-
- Sarvshrestha Vyakti – Divyangjano Ke Sashaktikaran Ke Liye Karyarat
- Sarvshrestha Punarvas Peshevar (Rehabilitation Professional/worker) – Divyangatha Ke Kshetra Mein Karyarath
- Sarvashrestha Anusandhan/Navpravartan/Utpad Vikas/Divyangatha Ke Sashktikaran Ke Kshetra Mein
